So, this review is an edit from my last, as I did come across some issues in parts while building the Horizontal Queen with shelves… but I had the customer service reach out and show all the attention in helping me fix ALL issues regarding my experience. What makes me a loyal customer to companies and products, is how a company shows they care about their customers and their experience! No one is perfect and you can tell this is a new company, and they are still learning to address hiccups …but the quick response by email and how they are willing to provide endless help to get you to the finish line, (to be able to enjoy the product at its best) shows you what a GREAT company their looking to be! The final product once built, is beautiful AND comfortable! Perfect for my small office! I’m just glad the product has a great company too that comes along with it, for all your needs to be heard during the process of building such a tricky contraption.

The Lori Bed is Great! I did a lot of research before choosing Lori Beds and I am very satisfied with their beautiful Murphy Bed. I didn’t want to lose a whole room that only has guests occasionally so it is the perfect solution. We constructed it together. The instructions are very clear and the video is very helpful. They’ve thought of everything. We are both quite handy so we were able to get it done in about 4 hours. The wood and finish are better than I expected and it is a beautiful addition to our home. I look forward to getting some drawers and shelving from Lori Beds to go with it.

I have been looking at murphy beds for at least a year to use in my small guest room that needs to double as an office space. I could never pull the trigger to purchase because many were so expensive but made of cheap components that were not even real wood. Others were very high quality but so cost-prohibitive that I could not justify the expense. I came across the Lori Bed site and was so impressed with the design and quality. It is made of furniture grade plywood and has a beautiful wood veneer finish for a very reasonable price in my opinion. I chose the queen horizontal in the light oak color for all the surfaces and couldn't be more pleased. All of the boxes arrived on the same day and shipping was super fast on the bed which I appreciated. My partner put most of the bed together and he agrees that the bed has an excellent design. He also felt that each box was well coordinated with the directions, all the bags of screws, bolts and accessories are separated and easy to distinguish where each piece goes. The precut holes for screw placement are perfectly cut to fit and he did not have any issues with alignment. It did take him probably 2 days to completely put it together, but he is very meticulous and took every piece out of the box to inspect and be sure he had a good grasp of how to put it together before he started. My wife and I are expecting our first child, so we have to do a little bedroom rearranging. Our current guest room will become the kid's room, so we need somewhere for our guests to stay when they visit. My office made the most sense, but since I work from home full time I didn't want a bed permanently in there. A Murphy bed seemed like the best solution. My office is a little on the smaller side and has some weird dimensions (soffit along one wall and little bump out for water shutoff), so needed a very particular solution. The horizontal Lori bed fit the space, so we made the purchase!

The whole process was seamless. The Lori Bed came in 5 different boxes, which were all delivered at the same time. They're also delivered on the quicker end of the timeframe we were give, which was great.

I've put together many pieces of furniture. Despite the Lori Bed likely being the biggest and most complex thing I've built, you could tell how much thought and effort went into make assembly as easy as possible for customers. First, the pieces in each box were logically grouped together, so you'd start with one box, then move to the next, etc. Each piece was clearly labeled, which corresponded to what was shown in the instructions. The hardware needed for each step was put in its own bag, which was a huge help and time saver.

Materials were packaged super well—zero damage. Customer support for shipping ahead of expected date was thorough and quick. Arrived in two days after shipping. It clearly warns to keep the boxes until construction is completed as original packaging is required for returns. I was able to build most of it myself (needed a second person for the heavy stuff); I’m a 5’0” female weighing about 157 pounds who doesn’t regularly do exercise. My smaller wingspan at times made things harder but not impossible. Instructions were much easier than IKEA ones. Very clear — and the materials for each step are separated by step with numbers, pictures, bags, etc. The 1/8” drill bit provided broke - we had a back up. A fair warning: the platform is VERY heavy, and we had to use something as a lever because it was not possible to lift and position it. We used a box and it worked well. I would definitely recommend.
